Bio

Sairee Chahal is the founder of SHEROES - an online platform that offers resources, opportunities and interactions for women around India. Sairee has been credited with helping build conversations about future-of-work in Indian society and also building strong technology to solve problems related to gender disparity within India.

She is on the board of directors of Paytm Payments Bank and Milaan Foundation as well as an ambassador for Girls x Tech Foundation.

Sairee holds an M. Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) as well as a PGDBM degree from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. She is a Fellow of the Ananta Aspen’s Kamalnayan Bajaj Fellowship and a member of Aspen Global Leadership Network. 

The Story of SHEROES

Sairee Chahal set up SAITA Consulting in 2006 to help tech startups scale by helping them build systems and processes. In her five years with SAITA she saw a lot of women applicants with high caliber gain attention from women workers. That’s when she launched Fleximoms, an online platform where companies can make contact with moms in need of flexible working arrangements.

Sairee realized that the Indian internet ecosystem was gender-biased, with a lack of diversity in the workplace and an insignificant amount of women in the workforce. To help combat this problem she launched SHEROES, a career-centric community for women to interact, collaborate and share their interests on all levels. 

Within two years of its launch, SHEROES had over 1 million women and 20,000 companies signed up to their platform. They would post around 100,000 job listings each month for the female workforce in India.

SHEROES created a helpline for women to give them the chance to speak with an expert about their careers. The idea was developed with the intention of helping women get more from life: whether it be professional success or health, family life or wellbeing.
